I’m interested in seeing how we can improve for all students.

Yes! Do you work or care for students now?

Yes to everything here!! I've got many years of post-secondary behind me, and my husband has a masters and PhD and he is currently doing a second master part-time. Though he is doing this one through an online program and will get a certificate, not formally enrolled in the university so won't get a formal degree, but we reckon he doesn't really need it, he just wants to learn the material and show future employers his wider background.

I found ways to thrive in the current system through overachievement, but it wasn't ideal. My older daughter went to a French school and teachers were very strict, critical, and academic, and essentially sucked out any potential curiosity or love of learning for her. My middle son is in early elementary and definitely neurodivergent and would learn best with what you are describing. He is bright, at 5 he was at a nature booth teaching about whales this weekend and he was looking at the whale anatomy model and asked where the heart was and "is this the spine?". Curiosity, play, and collaboration would see him learn and excel.

I am still a constant learner even as an adult. Often my hobbies and work projects involve learning and growing. I am always seeking to learn, and improve ways to learn, as I am astounded how much more there always is to discover!

I am interested in a world in which learning is supported and "a normal thing" at any age and at any stage in life beyond the current traditional post high-school construct. Lifelong learning without ageism, without inquiries like "where did you go to college?" but with the ability to pivot at any time based on our desires and excited to ask each other "what are you learning now?" Happiness would sky rocket!

Ooh I love that - lifelong learning. We can keep asking each other your awesome question to build the momentum!

Love these videos, Caitlin! Have watched a few now.

I love how clearly you show the connection between achievement and burnout.

Achievement is usually connected to a sense of belonging so overachieving can make self-care seem like a wrong or selfish move -even though is the ultimate killer of achievement!

It’s so important to listen to our bodies AND environments. Slowing down for even a minute or two allows us to see, feel, think and move so much more comfortably.
