I get a lot of energy from thinking about the future.
But with the holiday season, my brain defaults to thinking about the past.
Loved ones who aren’t here to celebrate this year with me.
Friends I used to have.
The holidays before COVID changed everything.
All of that brings up feelings to process, which is healthy.
But thinking about my past can also be pretty draining for my well-being.
So I’m giving myself extra space and grace this time of year.
And it explains why I’m already thinking about December and 2025.
It lights me up to think about who I can help and serve as we turn to new chapters.
That’s not everyone’s style. What’s yours?
Either way, self-regulation is important this time of year.
Regulating Tools I’m Using Right Now:
Weekly sessions with the facilitator I’ve seen for over four years now
30-minute pranayama (breathwork) classes with Eric Brown
Silent meditation time
Sound baths (both attending and hosting feels restorative)
Flow yoga classes (replaced my CrossFit classes after needing something gentler)
Network spinal care every week (replaced acupuncture for me 8-9 months ago)
Float tank = sensory deprivation (once a month, I’ve been going for 3+ years)
Sauna + cold plunge every 4-6 six weeks
Every day I spend 2 minutes in cold shower (follows my regular shower)
Vitamin D drops now that the clouds overtook Ohio this past week
Locks and limits on the ability to scroll Instagram (then I can read more!)
Curious about any of these? Click reply and I’m happy to answer questions.
A fun photo to show off the jacket I made.
I’ve been sewing and crafting a lot lately! It’s my main creative outlet right now.

How have new clients found me lately? Googling me! Every Google review helps me show up in their searches. If we’ve ever worked together, would you be willing to take three minutes and leave a review? I would greatly appreciate it.
Family dynamics can swing like a pendulum during the holidays between my young adult kids and their dad; and my independent 92 year old mom and my brother (her helper). I’m usually the first person who will be called in these groups to help mediate (!) My intention is to stay present in the moment one day at a time, one breath at a time. I scan my body several times a day to keep releasing tension patterns. Please share about your pranayama sessions! What type of breaths and how you may use them when you need them?
