Thanks for sharing, Caitlin! It took me a while to figure out that I still have things to write about although I am not in academia. Yet, it's hard to find a non-academic voice.
I keep reminding myself that I was a writer with a voice long before academia trained me, so I’m just remembering how to speak from my heart and gut, rather than my brain. 💕
My mother told me to and I did not listen! 😇 I did go to a great writing class and wrote some small fiction like pieces. But now I’m ready to stick with it!
I'm so happy you are finding a way to create - when I went through what I now call my why bother time - husband's cancer, dad's death, then divorce, bunch of big career shittys - writing kept me going, and not my professional writing but writing to understand.

It's the Dunkin' coupon!
Lol my center console of coffee coupons... ☕️
I enjoyed all the random bits!
I’ll keep gathering them to weave together! 🧶
Me too!
I assumed you’ve been secretly writing another book all this time! 💕

I read "Why Bother" before I went through my own time. Little did I know it was preparing me! A lovely gift - thank you, Jennifer.
oh that's so sweet to hear. I hope it helped! or helps now.
